A dense forest of limes, ornelli, oaks and holm oaks and the gurgling of flowing water. That’s what awaits you if you wish to discover theHermitage of Soffiano<\/strong>, set in the rock under Mount Ragnolo, just under three kilometers from the Sanctuary of San Liberato, in the municipality of Sarnano<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The route, has a length of 1.2 km (one way) and an uphill elevation gain of 190 meters.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Cave or Hermitage of Soffiano has very ancient origins. The place has been known since 1101, when Count Ismidione’s sons donated plots of land to the priest Albert and his companions. These located a cave to make it a place of meditation and prayer by erecting a church there, dedicated to St. Lawrence, and to lead a hermit life<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
